Tree Conk Mushroom Insulator Light Pendant (Dimming)
$209.99
Pendant light fixture made from a tree conk mushroom incorporating a glass insulator as fixture assembly has a unique, natural aesthetic. The conk, a type of polypore fungus, has a rugged, rounded shape that tapers slightly on one side, often with a smooth top and a rough, fibrous underside. Its color palette ranges from soft creams to earthy browns, with hints of orange, red, or even darker shades depending on the species. Parts are hard like wood generally they are firm to touch. Foraged in the Northern California Coast each fixture is unique and a natural work of art.
The fixture has a rustic, organic look, with the conk suspended from black cord. A warm LED bulb inside a glass insulator highlights the mushroom’s natural patterns and textures, giving the room a cozy, earthy glow.
The raw, organic form of the tree conk paired with the soft light could create a beautiful contrast against more modern or minimalist surroundings, making it a conversation piece in any room.
Structure: Conks are typically hard, leathery, or woody, shaped like shelves, brackets, or domes.
- Reproduction: Conks produce trillions of spores in pores on their underside (unlike common mushrooms with gills).
- Longevity: Many are perennial, adding a new layer each year and surviving for decades
- Processed: Dried carved and sealed they are hardened and firm and made to last.
